1 - Adding Menus to Your Programs

On a handheld computer, menus are particularly useful, providing a way to display a large number of options on a limited screen area. It should come as no surprise then that the ebm comes with straightforward support for menus. This article explores the nuts and bolts of implementing them on the eBookMan.

In most windowing systems, menus are temporary rectangular windows that offer a series of easily selected options. At the very least, most programs will have an exit option and an information button, such as Help or About. More complicated programs will use menus for further options, commands, settings, additional information, and so on. However, the principles are all the same regardless of size.
