6 - ConclusionThis covers the basics of the most useful aspects of menus, but not all. Another class (CHierarchicalMenu) is documented but not yet ready, and will support more menuing options. As well, menus have an option for images that also isn't quite ready, whereby you can insert icons into menu entries. In any case, the code discussed here will get your menus up and working in a consistent fashion, allowing you to concentrate on the meat of your program.Menus are not nearly as exciting as other aspects of programming, but from the user's perspective, they are highly significant. They provide access to commands in a simple manner, making menus a must for all but the most trivial of programs. Previous Section |
