As part of my spring cleaning here at U.M., I’m reviewing all the info here for legalities. It’s Canadian, not American, but making sure the blog complies with other countries is not a bad idea – most importantly, a proper Privacy Policy is long overdue (and a requirement as I do affiliate sales in the U.S.)
Fortunately, I found one site that helps shape it up free – FreePrivacyPolicy.com. Check the boxes for how your site will handle information, and they email you the info (actually, a login link and password to download your personalized copy).
Some caveats:
- It’s free because they hit you with time-limited sales afterwards (but they aren’t bad ones).
- They embed their link in the resulting code so you may wish to do an HTML sweep when you copy and paste.
However, in a short time I finally had a reasonable policy – that is, as equally dense and obscure as any other site’s!
