It’s Alive: Radio Spider Goes From “Cool Stuff” To Sales (Finally!)

One of the most gratifying things about writing software is when it ships – as Steve Jobs (and the sign over my desk) said, “Real Artists Ship”.

So today we became real artists once again and shipped Radio Spider 2, which is now online for sales on the company website.

The product manages audio file downloads, converting and routing files as needed: The goal is a automated management of audio assets (like syndicated programming) for radio stations.

Version 2 is notable for me; it’s the one I did most of the programming for, being a major reworking/rewriting of one of the main Digital Jukebox Products (last year my work on v1 was mostly triage and bug-fixing).

So you can imagine my delight when we won a NAB ‘Cool Stuff’ award on top of it! Here’s the guys showing it off:

(and yes, although I’m not in the pic, I seriously considered Photoshopping myself into it!)

So tomorrow I move onto the next program, but for a little while I’m going to celebrate…
