One of my jobs is programming/developing radio automation software, and for radio, the biggest event of the year is NAB. Last year we won a ‘Cool Stuff’ award for our product; so frankly, I didn’t expect to hear from the guys this year.
…But I was wrong.
We won the Radio World Best of Show award (which is the Cool Stuff award renamed for 2014).
So that’s two in a row!
This year’s nominee was our audio logger/recorder, which records up to eight channels of audio into eight files according to a time schedule you set up. It’s handy for recording programs or keeping a digital copy of your on-air broadcast – or a competitor’s. This year we added skimming (trigger a recording according to serial signal), and silence monitoring (if the audio is silent too long, send an email and/or a serial trigger), as well as a few other nice features. While I liked the additions, the award is the confirmation that the radio industry agrees with us.
Now the pressure is on – what can we come up with to win in 2015…
