A good craftsman has good tools - whether the tools come before or after the competency, its hard to say, but I do know that the two go together, and nowhere is this so apparent than in programming. Productivity, solid coding, and ease of debugging and maintenance are just some of the benefits of doing the job right, and quality programming tools definitely help. This column deals with several tools that will benefit all the craftsmen coding on the ebm.
